Best Friends

 Barley

 Ozzie

 Watson

Zoey

I have neglected showing my best friends on my blog for quite a while so I thought I would just put all four on here now at one time.  They are listed according to age.  Barley who is 11,  Ozzie will be 6 this October, Watson who is 3 and the baby Zoey who will also turn 1 years old next month.

All different...two are rescues (Barley and Zoey) two are purebreds (Ozzie and Watson).
All are loved.

A bowl of apples and bananas

A bowl of red and yellow tomatos

A bowl of Watson

Yes, he still likes curling up in my yellow ware mixing bowl.

Its a Cats Life

I have "Cockadoodle" finished and now will begin to quilt it.  You will have to wait to see it completed.  In the meantime here is Watson (nickname, Watsy) doing what he does best.

I have to go to the funeral of my Aunt today.  She lived to be 103 but the quality of her life has been compromised for a while now.  She is my Mom's only sister and now all of my mother's family are gone and she is the sole survivor being the youngest.  It is sad to see your aunts and uncles leave this world one by one.  May she rest in peace.

I Will Have A Bowl of That!

Yesterday I came in from working in the yard and the dogs came running but not my cat, Watson.
I found that unusual but did not think about it much.  I started making supper and my eye caught some movement in the bottom shelf of my island.  Now this is quite the fit!!!

Not Again!

You know it is time to clean up the studio when there is so much fabric piled up on your cutting table that it seems like the perfect place to make a nest and curl up!

New Puppy

My daughter Molly got a new puppy who she and Mark named Enzo.
He is soooo adorable and we are spending Thanksgiving with them on Sunday so will get to see him then.  He is part lab and part Border Collie and is a rescue dog.
Every other year our children go to their in-laws for the holiday.  I like that since it is only fair.  So this year we will celebrate on Sunday instead.

Since we will be alone on Thanksgiving Bob and I bought Lobster tails and will have those and some great wine and a salad instead.  Not too bad eh?!

SO.....

Happy Thanksgiving To All!

Happy Pets

Today we had to make a trip to Petsmart and I found this there that just needed
to come home for Watson.

I also picked up a "Thundershirt" for Barley.  Debra had told me that it helped her dogs during a storm.  Barley is petrified of rain, thunder , lightning and car rides.  So we got him one.  It started to rain, I put it on and he is fine.
The real test will be thunder though and that is not happening tonight.

Pets

During the day, Ozzie & Watson do not like it when they are not allowed outside.

In the evening Watson finds a warm spot next to Barley on the Ottoman.

Gotta love them all!

Working & Resting

I have been spending as much time as possible quilting my next grandchild's baby quilt.

I have all of it finished except the border now.  There was one spot where I did not match up my points...see it!   I do not thing he or she will mind.

Do you think Watson need a bigger bed?????
He is too funny.

"Flo"

There has been a lot going on the last few days which meant not a lot of quilting was done.
My grandson came for a visit too.  There was a baby shower for my niece so all the girls were going to that.

Last night I can hear Watson playing with something that did not sound like his usual toys.
I looked and realized he found something that had made it under the couch while Max was here.
It was "Flo" one of the cars from the movie "Cars" which is one of Max's favorites.

Seems like Watson is claiming it as his own!

Home Sweet Home

When celebrating Christmas at my Mom's,  her cat Willy found the perfect spot for a cold winter's night.
A picture perfect scene.   Well, minus the beer bottle one  of my brothers left on the fireplace hearth!

I sold two of my quilts out of my "gallery" here at the store today.  One was "Red Barn" and the other was my "IT" piece, "Black-Eyed Susans".
Hoorah!

Sleeping in the Trees

Watson is snoozing, one of his favorite past times, on top the ironing board.  I think I am ready to start quilting my Gouldian Finch quilt now.  I am pretty happy with it as is so it is time to quilt all the foreground pieces.

However, first I have to start my "IT" piece, and finish two Christmas gifts I am working on but can not show since the people they are for visit my blog from time to time.
There never seems to be a dull moment in the month of December!

Barley & Ozzie & IT & Gouldians...... Oh My!

We are having new windows put in the upstairs of our house.  They are coming tomorrow.  So I had to move everything in my studio in preparation.  This pretty much has put me out of business.  So I was out in the yard with Barley (top) and Ozzie late in the afternoon yesterday.  We are having some gorgeous 60 degree weather.  So they were happy to be out and browsing the yard.  I am glad because it will not be freezing in the house when the windows go in.

I am working on my "Interpret This!" piece and making some progress.  Here is a bit of a hint early!
As you can see part of my background is quilted.
My Gouldian Finch quilt is on the design wall and on hold right now.
A detail with leaves added & background quilted .

Rest in Peace

My beloved kitten Winston died this past Sunday.
He was only 10 months old.
I had been taking him to the vets for the past two weeks with what started out as just some sneezing.
Each time they put him on different antibiotics and Viral meds.  He just kept getting worse and then Sat. morning he had a seizure.  We took him to the emergency hospital but he did not make it.
We will miss him and I can hardly go in my studio now because that is where he kept me company.

His life was short but he gave a lifetime of love while he was here with us.

No Place For Shyness

Bob and I went to the County Fair last weekend.  I wanted to take some photos of the chickens for a possible future quilt.  Little did I know that chickens are total divas!   They love getting photographed.
Here is one girl who just could not get close enough.

The Men were no different.
Just too funny.  I am in love with chickens.

Bird Hunting

I stepped out of my studio for a few moments this morning and when I came back guess who was out hunting my birds!  Winston!  I think he decided it was to big to fit in his mouth!
