Feathers & Friends?

Progress has been made on the feathers of my barn owl.  There a lot of under feathers to it is taking some time.  I also redid his feet.  Did not like the fabric choice of the other feet or the shape.  These are much better.
Put on more of the tail feathers and added the dark section using a feather fabric I have had in my stash.  Much of this will be hidden by the next layer but I hope you can see how it is coming together.
In the meantime I am again watching the Bald Eagles prepare their nest up in Minnesota.  It was so interesting to watch them last year I had to watch again.  This is Zoey's first time seeing Eagles and she is totally mesmerized.

Watson has now returned to the studio for short periods of time.  He seems fascinated with Zoey's activity level.  He still keeps a comfortable space between him and her but progress is progress and I am happy with how this is going since it will be two weeks tomorrow.   I think he is saying "Why does she get to chew on the bolt of fusible and I get yelled at?"  Don't worry .... she did get told no shortly after this photo.

Your owl is coming along nicely!

TV is really something for a cat. Cassie likes to watch it as does Maddie. Toby doesn't care though-he is a seasoned vet.! Zoey and Watson are doing just fine:)

So impressed how you make your owls come alive with fabric.

The owl is coming along beautifully, and wonderful fabric choices. Zoey is so cute, she is really coming into her own. I get that with mine, Moki is a brute and Izzy gets upset if he jumps on her, but she teases him, so it is her own fault, lol.

Oh my, you've got a regular little animal kingdom there...owls, eagles and kitties. Well kitties are my vote for the favorite!

the quilt is going to be great! We were just discussing this even where we are finally going to hang our rooster and farm quilts. I am moving the rooster because we've painted that wall, and the rooster doesn't stand out the way I want it to. We've found a perfect spot for it to shine!

Zoey is such a pretty little cutie-pie! She and Watson seem to be doing just fine!
