HA HA

I was paging through the book "Wisconsin Quilts" and came across this quilt made in 1917-1919.
It made me smile and anything that makes me smile is worth sharing.

My first thought was that it was saying Haha! but in reality it is the creators initials.  This was pieced and quilted by Anna Sophia Koch Horn in Shawano County Wisconsin.  It is all cotton and measures 83 1/2" by 91 3/4".  Isn't it fantastic?

She pieced a whole quilt with just her initials? seems a little egocentric to me!

(but she did have fun initials so maybe there was a play on words, so to speak.)

Very funny, but I did think initials when you said the date of the quilt. Not too many ladies in those days with a sense of humor, lol.

A "modern" quilter ahead of her time. I thought it was saying, "aha!" as in a revelation. Very fun.
