The End of a Commission

For 5 months there were quilts under the needle.....

Many days the studio was in utter chaos.....

There was constant work going on.....

There was no time to worry about fashion or hair.....

The Pfaff kept on ticking.........

And the Bernina did too.......

Many needles were changed and changed.......

and then...35 quilts got packed and shipped.
Now there are only photos and wonderful memories.

I must thank five people & groups:

1. Nellie Durand for giving my name to Kathy which led to me getting this Commission.

2. Bob, my husband, for picking up the slack at our business as well as at home so I could stay focused and disciplined to work solely on this project.

3. Bonnie, my sister & best friend, for doing all the bindings and the sleeves on all these quilts. Without her help I would not have been able to meet my deadlines.

4. My children, for understanding my time was going to be limited and supporting me
all the way through this.

5. My friends and online quilting friends who kept my spirits high and and spurred me on.

Thank You All!!!!

Congratulations, Barbara! What an accomplishment. And if your sister did all those blankety blank bindings, she's a real treasure!

You're welcome, Barbara. I'm doing a happy dance for you.

I knew you were good and I knew you could do it. However, I did not know how wonderfully well you would meet the challenges presented by this commission and its demands on you, your talent, your time, and your family relationships.

Congratulations for sticking to it and finishing the commission. Wow that is a lot of packages of needles!

Now what it next? Rest? A quilt of your own? Back to work at the store?

I truly enjoyed sharing your quilting adventure with you. Will there be photos of the quilts on display, would love to see that. I have a few more things to finish this week and then it is time for me to start exploring with quilting.

I know part of you will miss the constant attention to the project but I hope you will take time to rest and then get busy writing your book!

Congratulations on a super job! You will be touching the hearts of many women with your pieces.

I am very proud of my efforts...my family....and as you can see from the comments, my quilting friends.

I have started a new quilt too and it is not 30 by 36 in size! Hoorah! There definitely is something good about ending this commission. :)

Your work looks to be beyond wonderful. We can't wait to see it in person. How have we missed this?
