Penguin Construction Begins

I began the construction of the Penguin this morning.  After tracing the parts of his body on the fusible web, I cut them out on the fabric I selected.  I take my teflon sheet and put the pieces down placing my tracing paper sketch over it to be sure it lines up right.  Here is his breast being placed on.

When adding the black I had to switch to my white teflon sheet so I could see it.

I start adding shadows etc. again lining them up using my tracing paper.

Here he is so far looking pretty proud of himself!

I was not happy with the background and decided to add some piles of snow and ice along with a mountain range in the background.   The boarder was also selected....I think?   I will wait to put the penguin in and see if I still like it.

We had snow all day yesterday into the night.  Barley did not want to leave the deck even after I shoveled last night.  I guess if the piles were up over my head I would feel the same.  This morning we ended up with about 8 inches of new snow!   Luckily we put a tarp on our porch roof this time and no water dripped in the kitchen.   Hoorah!

I really like the fabrics for him, gives that stark white and black with touches of texture with the others. I do like how you changed the background, gives it more depth. Debating on the border too, lol.

Yippee for no snow in the kitchen!

Your little man is coming along nicely. Just love the black and white of him-are you going to add any other colors to the black areas?
