My brother, Jeffrey Strobel is a great wildlife photographer. He took this photo of a short eared owl he spotted here in Wisconsin. He gave me permission (this is when you pull the sister card) to use this photo for my next quilt.
So I sketched him/her out and now I am ready to begin.
It will be fun to attempt to capture his facial expression which I love.
I will not buy it. I will not buy it. I will not buy it. ;)
ReplyDeleteHere are a couple of posts on my blog with owl stuff...

Because I like owls! :)
Looking forward to seeing this come to life! I have fond memories of driving along a back road in Wisconsin with an owl flying low along side the car for what seemed like miles! Silent and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see him come to life, that is a beautiful photo to work from. You are always welcome to use ones I get of wildlife or if you have a request of something I have here, that you don't, I can try and get a photo. I do want to try one of the cormorant on the buoy, think that would make a nice art piece, though mine will be a lot less detailed, lol.

Great subject matter! Owls have such a great expression and presence. I know it will turn out great!
