My brother, Jeffrey Strobel is a great wildlife photographer. He took this photo of a short eared owl he spotted here in Wisconsin. He gave me permission (this is when you pull the sister card) to use this photo for my next quilt.
So I sketched him/her out and now I am ready to begin.
It will be fun to attempt to capture his facial expression which I love.

Because I like owls! :)
Looking forward to seeing this come to life! I have fond memories of driving along a back road in Wisconsin with an owl flying low along side the car for what seemed like miles! Silent and beautiful.
I can't wait to see him come to life, that is a beautiful photo to work from. You are always welcome to use ones I get of wildlife or if you have a request of something I have here, that you don't, I can try and get a photo. I do want to try one of the cormorant on the buoy, think that would make a nice art piece, though mine will be a lot less detailed, lol.

Great subject matter! Owls have such a great expression and presence. I know it will turn out great!
I need a new adjective too!
