This probably looks like a mess to some of you but in the center is where the owl is going along with a chunk of wood he is perched on.
I quickly put the owl on top but it will go a bit higher when I do him. I think his head needs to go up into the sky a bit. You get the idea though. I have to say it took me 5 hours to do that grass including the quilting. I may add more in the morning but it seems finished to me right now.

I like how you did the background, lots of interest going on with the reeds. I agree, a bit higher so some of the sky will be behind him.

5 hours! Holy Smokes! It looks great though. That brown/gold/gray combo is wonderful and so effective. We have a lot of that going on right now with our fields and gray skies. Very pretty.
I love the contrast between the blue sky and the orange/yellow grasses. And I am sooo jealous that you get these done so quickly!
