Face

Well I have to say it took two tries on the beak and lots of eye balls.  Just could not get the eye to look right until I found a piece of fabric which had berries all over it.  I took my micron archival black ink pen and made the pupil in the center, put fusible on the back and Woolah!  The perfect eye.  I think the quilting will add the details I want on the beak but I might tweak it a bit later.

I think you found the perfect fabrics for his face, really looks nice against the darker blue.

He is looking really great! Lots of work to get it just right. I love the red fabric underneath his mouth, etc. The swirls make him look like a French monarch of some sort-very Louis XIII with those swirling curls!

Yaaa! Very convincing. This bird will not cease ringing the bell until the neighbours are on their feet. The beak is just right, it seems to me it contributes a lot to his determined expression.
