Carrot Construction

Keeping my sketch closeby for layout purposes, I fuse my carrots down leaving the tops loose so I can add the greens next under the tops of the carrots.

I found a leafy fabric in my stash which, if fussy cut, worked out perfectly for my carrot greens.  I am pretty happy and know the quilting will add to the look.  So far so good.  I leave enough space at the bottom to quilt in the roots that will hang off the tips of the carrots and perhaps a few off the sides.

Had a great day yesterday on Lake Winnebago with my daughter, Molly and her husband, Mark.  It was beautiful but a bit windy so hard to fish.  Did not catch much but had a nice picnic lunch out there and a fun visit.  Still pretty hot here but tonight the cold front goes through and we go back down to the 60's/70's.

Great variety of fabrics for the carrots and the leaf fabric is perfect. It made me think of the yarns I have seen in the craft store, they look like leafy stems, might have to try that in a piece.

Looks like you had a wonderful day on the lake, I could have used a motor, mine ran out after a few hours, lol.
