Poppies Poppies Everywhere

 "Field of Poppies"
36" x 22"
Pieced, Raw Edged Fused Applique, Machine Quilted

I finished binding this quilt at night so my pictures are a bit dark.  I enjoyed working on this and it will
be re-photographed after blocking.

I am working on "Urban Poppies"  I found this background fabric at the Quilt Expo and had to use a piece of it because I loved it so much.  I have the binding selection on the side of it.  I may add to it
but sort of like it just as is.   Sometimes you have to know when to stop and keep it simple.
What do you think?

We made the decision to put up a privacy fence on one side of our property.  We have had issues
with this neighbor and after 6 years of 'things' we have decided it was time to do something about it so we can once again enjoy our backyard.  So we bought all the cedar and Bob cut the pickett tops.
We hired our nephew who is a carpenter to do the work and it is sooo nice.

Today the old fence comes down with the new standing behind it!  We left it up because of our dogs
needed to go out.   It will be so nice to have the privacy we need when out in the yard.

It came out beautifully. I do love the next piece with the lighter background. Those shades really show off the flowers. We have a tall fence on one side of our yard, was the only way to keep the dog from running after the neighbor's kids. They would run around and scream and the dog got excited and ran after them and then chased them and one kid got hurt. My dumb dog just wanted to play, lol, but he bopped the kid and he was too big for a kid and broke the skin so we got sued.

You really can do those poppies so well. I particularly like the urban piece-bright against neutral.

Looks like the new fence is taller. You know what they say about fences and neighbors:)
