Gouldians

I have the background quilted on my Gouldian Finch quilt.  I did the top 3/4's in a golden green blendable thread and the bottom 1//3   in a blue, purple, rose variegated thread.  This has a subtle effect on the lighting in the background.    I have added more leaves mimicking the leaves on the background fabric to add dimension.

I "may" want to enter this one in a show that requires it not to have been seen anywhere publically.
Until I decide .... I will be restricted  to just show you clips of it.

It's lovely! I like the way you used the threads playing with the light..

I truly love what you have done with this piece and the hint of leaves in the background. I definitely think you should enter it or submit it to a magazine for thread work. Do you raise your foot when you quilt with applique like this? I did it once with wool and it was a pain, the wool was too thick. I thought that I should quilt the background before I added the wool.

Love the quilting, it is like wind. Goes with birds in a tree so well!

If the rest is as good as the clip, you certainly will want to enter it into a show!

I really want to see the whole piece! I love the colors and the movement.

The thread work in the quilting is phenomenal. You have managed to show both light and movement with the thread. I can see the gentle breeze going through the leave letting the sunshine play.

Barb, From what we can see, this is one of your best. I love the colors, the shading is superb. This is a true work of art-can't say enough.

I love the colours in this snippet. I especially love the blue leaf which you can see the underside of, and then the front as if fold over...beautiful!
