Quilts 1700-2010

I had  to share this quilt show slide presentation with you.
I found the quilts to be stunning examples of interesting work as well as the way they chose to display
them to be thought provoking.   Only disappointment, I wish they showed more,  If you have time, take a look.

Thanks! Someone in the UK posted about her trip to the exhibit but this is so much more.

This is so interesting, the way the modern quilts and historical ones play off each other in this exhibit. I particularly love the brightly colored one with the drawings of modern appliances.

Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. My FIL was a fireman in the 40s and he and the other men made quilts to while away the hours in the firehouse.

Now I want to go to England. I have been to the V&A but there were no quilts on display at that time and I wasn't quilting yet.

It does make you want to take a trip to see it.

Luckily the International Quilt Show will be in Chicago next month! Can not wait to go.

Thanks, that was a delight!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if bed quilts in most shows could be exhibited on bed forms? Some of the more simple/honest bed quilts would exhibit their attributes of being designed for a bed while those that are over the top gorgeous may not come off so well ... especially those that are quilted to be as stiff as a board.

Thanks Barbara. A friend had sent me an article on the exhibit so I am happy to now have seen that video.
