"Bonnie"

"Bonnie"  14" X 25"

Bonnie is the sister that helped me by making all the bindings and sleeves for all 35 quilts that were in
the commission I did.  Without that help I would not have been able to meet my deadlines.
I wanted to make her a quilt that was in keeping with the commission in style etc, yet told a bit of her story.

Bonnie lived on a farm that she loved in a community not far from here that she also loved.  She had planned to stay there forever.   However, like so many of us, life took a different turn and her husband had to take a job in Michgan.   She was forced off the farm and into suburbia,  Since then life has not presented an opportunity for her to get back to country living where she is happiest.  So I made this quilt so she could have the farm in her heart where ever her life takes her and the memories she had there.

Thank you all for your kind words. She was very happy receiving this gift and she deserves it for all she has done for me during the commission and throughout my life. I am lucky to have her as both a friend and a sister.

Did Bonnie know about the wonderful quilt before she was presented with it?

Was there a ceremony to accompany the presentation?

Such a gifted relationship you two have.

What a beautiful gift, she is going to love it. I love the fabrics you used for the scenery and the quilting. I am looking at my fabrics in a different way now and how they would work into art pieces.
