Work in progress

In celebration of receiving an ipod from my daughter, Molly and my husband, for Mother's Day
I began working on this quilt. I call it "My Pods". I am trying to keep it whimsical and have lots of movement like you feel when listening to music. I picked a background batik that reflects the movement and I also made the inside border irregular. I am still adding a bit to it so it is not complete.

This weekend is going to be busy. It is my birthday on Sunday...61! Yikes! How did that happen? It sounds ancient now when I have to tell people I was born in 1948!
I thought about starting a "reverse birthday this year." That would make me 16, but that strategy would only work until 65 and then I would be right back to where I started. So I will just be happy feeling younger and believing in my mind I am only 36? maybe 40?
Have a good weekend.

Lovely piece! You seem to have come to a very free kind of treating the flower theme which I like even more than the more naturalistic predecessors.

Happy Birthday Barbara. You're still young. If I had a reverse birthday this year it wouldn't do me any good at 66.

Happy Birthday. Great quilt, great name. Is the music on your blog a result of your new ipod. Fun.
