Thunderstorm

Woke up this morning to our first thunderstorm. So decided before it was raining too hard to get out and take some photos of our weeping larch tree. It is just beginning to open up and I love this stage of its growth. It just looks like it is covered with beads but when you get up close it is little needles opening up. Of course my dog, Ozzie, followed me out. He is fearless of storms, however, Barley, who you can see peeking out of the window on the bottom left of the photo, is scared to death. He usually ends up under our ottoman in the living room until it is over. I feel so badly for him and have tried numerous things to calm him but it does not seem to help. So it is the only negative thing about spring and summer for him.

Here is the weeping larch next to our fountain.

Final Closeup.

Hope you all have a good weekend. I plan to make some good progress on my quilting since it is supposed to storm most of the weekend. Perfect for staying put and quilting.

We had thunder last night but no rain. It's gloomy today though we have only had sprinkles (so far).

I have never seen a tree like that. Do they stay small?

Fearless little buddy! Our cats used to be freaked out by any amount of wind. They would need to come inside. Big noises, little bodies:)
