Work continues on my Lakes edge piece. Every year when we go up to Minocqua Wi. I take photos of these areas of the lake. Just so beautiful in the mornings when the lily pads open.
I am not finished yet and this photo shows me some weak areas. But I am pleased with it so far.
What do you think?
Progress on the store is continuing. We are having our closeout sale now and it is meaning a lot of hours and work as well as bookkeeping. However today we are closed and I am enjoying some time in the studio. So nice to escape the pressure and sadness saying goodbye to customers we will never see again. However....it will be so nice when finished and I can really concentrate on my art.
Thank you for continuing to visit my blog even if I am unable to post each day.

I think it looks great! The reflections and the colors...all of it.
It is good thing that you started a piece to give you some calm time while the sale goes on.
I love it and my husband does too, he is amazed at the realism in your pieces.

When one door closes, another door opens. I know it is sad but it is probably time to move forward with your life.
Lake's Edge is looking peaceful and lovely. Love the peak of purple.
It's beautiful. Lots to look at with the rich colors and textures. I love water lilies.
It's beautiful! I'm so glad you can escape to your studio every now and then and immerse yourself in the feeling of the lake. When I retired I was pretty sure I was going to like it but really had no idea how wonderful it was going to be. Not having the pressure of having to go in to work or to get back for work or thinking about something at work is such a luxury. I do miss seeing so many of the people but with Facebook I can still keep up and now I can do the fun stuff all the time! I think you'll love the freedom!
I think this is my favorite so far. One of em anyway. You've managed to capture the transparency of the water so well. Is the selling of the shop a move toward retirement?
Do you teach classes for Quilt Guild shows? Also do you judge quilt shows?
