Mysterious & Eerie Schreiber Print

 I purchased this print for our antique store.  It was done in the 1930's and the artist is Schreiber.
The title is "Moon Over Mississippi".
I usually do not purchase without knowing more about something but this one had me curious.

I have not found anything out about the artist yet so if any of you know something please let me know.
I am totally stumped by the symbolism in this piece.
The title is obvious enough but what is this sign?  What does the horse and carriage have to do with anything?  I love the moodiness of it and the shadows are eerie.
What is your opinion?
I have a feeling this may be a hard sell.

    I think it is beautiful, love the mystical look of the piece. It makes me think of someone escaping and I think he might have put the old and the new together. A buggy was not modern, but the sign is, maybe the sign is a symbol of the underground railroad? Makes for a good story and a piece that would definitely be a conversation piece.

    Thanks to all of you! It has opened a door to an artist I knew nothing about. Yes it is Georges Schrieber.
    It was originally an oil painting.
    This is a print.

    Seems the prints have sold from over $1000 to 224.00 on Ebay.

    From what I found out he traveled to different states and did a painting of each one. This is Mississippi.

    I could not find any take on the symbolism of the speeding carriage along with the road block or sign.
    I still am intrigued by that.

    I will price it at $200. :)

    I love it. The buggy looks Amish to me. Maybe it symbolizes the Amish escaping from modern problems? What is the date of the work?

    My neighbors had a print of this same painting at the end of their driveway last summer. I've watched Antiques Roadshow many times and I saw possible potential in it. I put it in my car and it's been in my house since. Imagine my joy when I finally found someone else with the exact same print!
